Enchanted Isles of the Renaissance

Popular lecturer Jeffrey Nigro returns to the Fine Arts lectern to take us on a tour of Renaissance gardens as depicted by Italian, French, and English Artists. He will show how these gardens used geometry, pattern, mechanical wonders, and complex symbolism in an attempt to create a perfect fusion of nature, art, science, and philosophy. Mr. Nigro has been associated with the Art Institute of Chicago since 1988, serving as Director of Adult Programs from 2004 to 2010. He is currently an independent contractor-lecturer.
