The Art of John James Audubon

Alan Gehret has been studying and researching the life, art and travels of John James Audubon for 25 years and has traveled extensively in Audubon's footsteps across the United States and Canada. He is one of the nation's leading experts on John James Audubon. He is often called upon to authenticate Audubon paintings and to assist with information for books and publications. A popular lecturer, Mr. Gehret has spoken to groups throughout the country. He was also an adviser and interviewee for the PBS American Masters film Audubon, Drawn from Nature. For the last four years, Mr. Gehret has been Curator of the Audubon Museum in Henderson, Kentucky.

This lecture is co-sponsored by Lakeview Museum in conjunction with their exhibit "John James Audubon: American Artist and Naturalist" running from September 18, 2010 through January 9, 2011.
