Crossing Cultural Fences: the Intersecting Material Worlds of American Indians and Euro-Americans
Dr. Cindy Ott, an Assistant Professor in the American Studies Department at Saint Louis University since 2007, teaches graduate and undergraduate courses in environmental history, public art and memory, material culture, food studies, and cross-cultural studies. While a Curator of History at the Museum of the Rockies and an affiliated Assistant Professor at Montana State University (2004-2006), she researched and organized exhibits, lectured and published. She has also published widely on American history and cultures.
Dr. Ott earned her B.A. from the University of Colorado, Boulder, received her M.A. in History from Yale University and her Ph.D. in the American Civilization Program at the University of Pennsylvania. She is the recipient of several awards, including a Mellon Faculty Development Grant from the College of Arts and Sciences at Saint Louis University and a Junior Scholar award from the Fulbright Commission.
