Dr. William Worley
A Close Encounter with Thomas Hart Benton, Regionalist Painter and Master Muralist
Appearing in the guise of Benton himself, William Worley will discuss the life of this popular Missouri-born artist, his affiliation with the Regionalist movement and his famed mural paintings depicting everyday scenes of Midwestern life. At the end of the program, Dr. Worley will answer questions from the audience, first as Benton and then as one of the painter's students. In addition to staging first-person representations of Benton and other men of note, Dr. Worley is a consulting historian and author.
