A scholar and performer whose radiant wit and infectious enthusiasm have made him a great favorite with Fine Arts Society members, Dr. Engel will reveal the twists and turns our language has taken over the centuries to become the English we speak today. Using analysis and humor, he will explain the contributions made by the Germans, the French, and the first great master of English, Geoffrey Chaucer.
